Quietening the mind with wildcrafting
notes from autumn harvest:
These hands have been working hard lately.
I’ve been out every day that I can picking rosehips and soon I’ll start gathering Oregon Grape root and stem bark like you can see in this photo.
I harvest these ingredients, along with Juniper berries, by hand for the Four Shrubs face and body oil.
It’s a lovely way to spend time outdoors in nature and interacting with the surroundings, plants, animals and birds. I’ve learnt a lot from just being out there for so many hours.
It’s good for quietening the mind and tuning into the senses. You start to learn patterns and movements in the land, and you eventually begin to read it like a very subtle and beautiful language.
